Introduction
Atheists pride themselves as being more logical than people who believe in God. I should know. I was one as a child.
Then, Dad gave me a book one of his friends had recommended. It was by a Christian missionary arguing for the existence of God.
The point that convinced me was the author’s analogy to the Big Bang creating everything without intelligent design.
He said this was like a bomb creating beauty, which doesn’t happen unless there’s intelligent design by humans by way of controlled demolitions.
Future events and signs have reinforced my belief. However, this article isn’t about my beliefs. I will use pure logic to show that atheism is illogical.
Scientific Approach
The assumption of atheism itself is unscientific as scientific assumptions are those than can be proved or disproved by experiments.
But, non-existence of something, especially someone like God, who might exist anywhere is impossible.
To prove that God doesn’t exist, we would need a God sensor. How do you build that if God doesn’t exist?
Even if we build it, we would have to scan all places. We don’t know the extent of our Universe. So, we can’t know if there are other Universes.
I’m not talking about the fictional concept of multiverse that masquerades as a scientific concept. I will probably talk about this in another article.
I’m talking about other Universes that aren’t parallel Universes. It’s the height of human hubris to think that there can be only one Universe outside parallel Universes-the one we inhabit.
How do we scan all places when we don’t even know all the places that exist?
If God Exists
There are only two possibilities. Either at least one God exists or no God exists. If God exists, atheists not believing in Him will not make him disappear.
God may also not feel obligated to help them as they don’t believe in Him. Believers can hope for help if they deserve it.
If God Doesn’t Exist
If God doesn’t exist, it doesn’t benefit atheists in anyway.
However, even if God doesn’t exist, it might still benefit believers in situations where everything seems lost.
In fact whenever life has proved intolerable to me and I have contemplated suicide, praying to God for help has been the only thing that has kept me going.
So, belief in God is so useful, it might be the only thing that matters when dealing with such life and death situations.
Conclusion
We see that whether God exists or not, atheism is useless and belief in God is useful. Hence, atheism is illogical and belief in God is logical.
